- ➤ KCCI, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, began on July 31 as KRNT-TV and grew into Central Iowa’s top station after changes in name, ownership, and technology. The station—renamed KCCI-TV in 1974—built a new tower and modern facilities that now serve over 1 million viewers across the region. KCCI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ It has been almost three weeks since Iowa’s new hands free driving law went into effect and more than 1,400 warnings have been issued statewide. The Iowa DOT said drivers will receive warnings until Jan. 1, 2026 — then fines will be imposed while motorists are advised to use Bluetooth, an AUX cable, or enable Drive Focus mode. KCCI
