- ➤ On Friday, more than three-quarters of Iowa counties were under a heat advisory with highs near 90°F and the heat index reaching triple digits during the State Fair, while only scattered storms appeared after midnight. On Saturday, a chance of storms is expected late tonight into Sunday morning and another round is likely early next week—bringing cooler highs in the mid-80s. KCCI
