- ➤ A local nonprofit will hold its eighth Final Salute service Saturday, Oct. 4 at Lutheran Church of Hope in Waukee to honor 13 unclaimed veterans including two World War I heroes and one military spouse, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. and a military burial to follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery—bringing the total sendoff to 84 veterans honored to date. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Des Moines Water Works transferred $9.7 million from a class-action suit settlement to Central Iowa Water Works for PFAS cleanup. The funds will be used only for PFAS remediation, though details on the process remain unclear. KCCI
