- ➤ DMACC students from its surgical technology program worked with the Ankeny Urban Student Nurses Association on Nov. 20 to craft sleeping mats, pillows, hats, and bags from recycled surgical wrapping for Iowa's homeless. About 30 volunteers joined the effort—aiming to complete 100 bags so that transient residents can carry their own items when they move on. KCCI
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ UnityPoint Health has partnered with Mayo Clinic to use an AI tool named Platform_Insights that uses de-identified patient data from over 3 billion lab tests, 1.6 billion clinical notes and more than 6 billion medical images to help doctors decide on treatment plans. The tool will free up staff resources so rural patients can get better care as Iowa works to ease its healthcare worker shortage. KCCI
