- ➤ The Iowa DOT warned drivers to prepare for heavy Thanksgiving travel as nearly 6 million people are expected on the roads and Polk County is under a wind advisory until 6 a.m. tomorrow — officials said extra plows and possibly over 800 trucks are being readied in case snow develops, urging drivers to slow down and keep a safe following distance. - ➤ The Interstate 35 interchange with Highway 210 between Huxley and Cambridge is reopening today after being closed since March — the Iowa Department of Transportation rebuilt the junction and added a new bridge while crews complete final lane closures. KCCI

- ➤ A list of holiday light displays in central Iowa offers many family-friendly events at popular spots like the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Living History Farms, Reiman Gardens, Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, and Ankeny's Gingerbread Lane.
